BRIYA-Boca Raton Interfaith Youth Association

An interfaith organization for teens in grades 6-12.
BRIYA is, above all, centered around the idea of action. We are trying to create a space where teenagers can take all their ideals and hopes and put them into practice, into action. We are practicing two types of action – passive action and deliberate action, both very important and effective. Our passive action is created almost as an effect: as we interact with each other, as we learn about each other through our faiths and our culture, and as we forge friendships as individuals. Our deliberate action is the more obvious type of action: it relates towards the events we have within the community- taking initiative and responsibility for betterment of the world. With both these types of action, deliberate and passive, we’re working towards creating an outcome of peace long term. We understand that as teenagers, hatred ends where we want it to, and we want it to end here. This is what we are trying to do.
