Member of United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism, United Synagogue Youth and HaNegev USY

BRUSY (Boca Raton United Synagogue Youth) is dedicated to creating a fun and educational environment where Jewish children, preteens and teens can connect to Judaism, Israel, the community and each other.

Synagogue affiliation is not required.

USY - Grades 9 - 12

What is USY?
USYers can go to several conventions, regionally, sub-regionally, and internationally. There are also city-wide activities where the USY chapters from around South Florida get together and perform mitzvot, socialize, or just hang out. BRUSY meets once a week on Tuesdays 6:30-8:00PM and occasional weekend days.

GESHER - Grades 6 - 8

What is Gesher?
Gesher is a great place to meet and make friends with other middle schoolers in the synagogue and around the Sub-region & Region. They can participate in social action programs, religious education, Israel programs, and of course social programs. Gesher meets once a week on Tuesdays 6:30-8:00PM at B’nai Torah.

What is Chaverim & Chaluztim?
We offer a variety of activities and meet once a month on Sunday afternoons from 12:00-1:30PM. This group does both in-house and away events which provide for social development.

MEET OUR BRUSY STAFF:

Amanda Marks - Youth Director


Amanda grew up in Naples and was very involved in NFTY and attended Camp Coleman. She attended the University of Central Florida and majored in Hospitality & Event Management. After college Amanda made her way to South Florida. She enjoys hanging with her dog, outdoor activities and traveling. Amanda always enjoyed being involved with Youth Group and Sleepaway Camp and is very excited for the activities planned for the upcoming year!

Allyson Frimet - Youth Advisor


Allyson recently graduated from FAU with a bachelor’s in health science and a minor in Sociology. She is currently in Graduate school to get her masters in ABA Therapy to become a BCBA. She loves going to the gym and being outdoors during her free time. Allyson was born and raised in South Florida but wants to travel once she finishes school. She also attended B’nai Torah for preschool and is currently a teacher at our Sunday School.

Rachel Viselman - Youth Advisor


Rachel grew up at B’nai Torah Congregation beginning in preschool and continuing through Hebrew high school. During her high school years, Rachel was a member of USY and assistant Hebrew school teacher. After graduation from the University of Florida with a degree in Psychology, Rachel moved to Boston for graduate school at Tufts University. While working towards her master’s degree in Child Study and Human Development, Rachel worked for the local religious school. Upon graduation, she returned to South Florida and her B’nai Torah family. Rachel is now a Guidance Counselor in Broward County Schools. This year will be Rachel’s third year teaching second grade at religious school and second year as a youth group advisor.
