Today, thanks to Rabbi Steinhardt’s vision, B’nai Torah is a thriving community of over 1,400 families. Rabbi Steinhardt’s passion for social justice is evident in the many initiatives he has spearheaded over the years. In 2001, he established the Justice and Compassion Initiative, a program designed to address issues such as hunger, homelessness, and healthcare. His work in this area has led to partnerships with local organizations, including the Palm Beach County Food Bank and the United Way, providing essential resources to those in need.

A strong advocate for interfaith dialogue, Rabbi Steinhardt has brought together leaders from various faith communities, creating a space for mutual respect and understanding. Inspiring a Love for Israel Across Generations

Rabbi David Steinhardt’s profound connection to Israel has been a guiding force throughout his leadership at B’nai Torah. He has dedicated himself to fostering a meaningful bond between our congregation and the Jewish homeland, developing programs that educate and inspire, and bringing prominent Israeli leaders, scholars, and artists into our community. Rabbi Steinhardt has also led numerous congregational trips to Israel, offering members the life-changing experience of exploring the land firsthand. As one participant shared, “His love for the land is infectious, and he helped us see Israel not only as a country but as a part of our own identities.”

Beyond cultural and educational initiatives, Rabbi Steinhardt has passionately supported Israel’s security and well-being. He has organized fundraisers for Israeli families affected by conflicts and partnered with the Friends of the Israel Defense Forces (FIDF) to highlight the importance of supporting Israel’s soldiers. Rabbi Steinhardt has said, “Our connection to Israel is not only about a land far away. It is about a shared history, a shared destiny, and a responsibility to support our brothers and sisters.” His leadership has reinforced our congregation’s commitment to standing in solidarity with Israel, emphasizing that it is our duty to uphold the resilience and spirit of the Jewish people.

In response to the tragic events of October 7, Rabbi Steinhardt immediately mobilized B’nai Torah to provide both emotional and tangible support to those affected in Israel. He organized prayer gatherings and launched a fundraising drive, reminding us all that, as a Jewish community, it is our responsibility to support our brothers and sisters in Israel during these challenging times. His words and actions have been a source of comfort and strength, inspiring us to unite in faith, compassion, and resolve to help rebuild and strengthen the Jewish homeland.
