Your Gift Creates Lasting Impact

Every family at B’nai Torah carries a story that connects past, present, and future. These are the stories your generosity sustains — stories of learning, resilience, compassion, and hope.

EDUCATION & LEARNING

Jake’s Story

B’nai Torah has been part of Jake’s story since preschool, a place that shaped his faith, leadership, and love of learning. From Religious School to Hebrew High, every milestone deepened his Jewish identity and sense of belonging.

“The most rewarding part of my experience at B’nai Torah was becoming a madrich and having the opportunity to impart my knowledge to younger students and give to them what my educators once gave to me.”

Now a pre-med student at the University of Chicago, Jake continues to live out the values learned at B’nai Torah through Jewish leadership and advocacy on campus.

COMMUNITY & FAMILY

Bonnie & Richard’s Story

When Bonnie and Richard each lost their longtime spouses, B’nai Torah became their anchor — a place of comfort, connection, and ultimately, love.

“It feels like everything has come full circle. We met here, we healed here, and now we’ll begin this next chapter of our lives here. For us, B’nai Torah is more than a synagogue – it’s the place that brought us renewed happiness after loss.”

From Shabbat mornings in the sanctuary to volunteering through TLC, they’ve embraced all that B’nai Torah offers.

SOCIAL ACTION

Shari’s Family Story

For Shari and her daughters, Skylar and Shaye, B’nai Torah’s TLC program has become a joyful expression of their Jewish life. Through hands-on projects and acts of tzedakah, they’ve learned that helping others is at the heart of who B’nai Torah is.

“I love how B’nai Torah makes mitzvot and volunteer opportunities such a key component of their programming — it shows our children that kindness and compassion are truly at the heart of Jewish life.”

Whether baking treats for caregivers, reading to children, or packing care bags for the homeless, their family’s experiences reflect what tikkun olam looks like in action.

A Gift of Extraordinary Generosity

“Supporting B’nai Torah is one of the most meaningful investments you can make. The return is measured in pride, in joy, in the strength of our community, and in the values we pass to the next generation. Eda and I are honored to help sustain young families, education, mental health, and the programs that carry our legacy forward.”
